Christian Fundamentalist: why don't you hold more rallies against barbershops or Red Lobster?

Some of you are quick to hold rallies against gay marriage based on verses such as:

"If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them." (Leviticus 20:13)

But for some reason you aren't holding marches outside of Supercuts based on:

Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." (Leviticus 19:27)

and you dont harass people for going to eat at Joe's Crab Shack based on:"But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:10)

And if any department store sells items made of multiple materials, you don't sit and protest:"...do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear material woven of two kinds of material." (Leviticus 19:19)

Why focus so much on the parts of the bible that allows you to condemn others and ignore the parts that are inconvenient to your life.Christian Fundamentalist: why don't you hold more rallies against barbershops or Red Lobster?
Because there are too many people who eat shellfish or cut their hair and you wouldn't want them to pick a fight in which they couldn't bully their victims, would you?
have you ever tasted lobster its delicious. have you ever had half cotton half poyester shorts, comfortable. have you ever seen two guys going at it, disgusting. Religion is all about picking and choosing. Catholics weren't even allowed to eat meat on fridays until Pope John Paul II said they couldChristian Fundamentalist: why don't you hold more rallies against barbershops or Red Lobster?
haha it is the wonderful Christian way, pick and choose what group you want to victimize and leave all else alone.

I love how they try and rationalize it haha 10 to 1 one of them will delete this question in their typical fashion, haha thats what they do when you stump them and they have no answers

Edit- Benji, i love your answer, so very true
This is why the world is such a mess. People who argue over petty stuff like this or which is the correct Sabbath day miss the whole meaning of what's being taught.

Is it really a sin to wear clothing woven of two kinds of material?
Ok, the first one is a law from the old covenant, God said kosher was out a while ago.

the second is a metaphor, it means that you don't show yourself as two different people, but as one serving God.
lol. I'm going to look up these verses one day to see if it's true. lol.

Good question btw. =D. I hope most christians don't get offended since the asker did say "fundamentalists" as opposed to all christians.
What would you think of someone who wrote a movie review but walked out after the first ten minutes of the movie? You'd think he was somewhat DISHONEST, wouldn't you?

You do see where this is going, don't you?
Hehe, brilliant question

...and out comes the "context"..."that's the old testament" blather blah ad infinitum
Give them a chance, once they've cleared up homosexuality they can move on to other issues, it's not as if they can rely on some God for help.
1. No one should attempt to force they're beliefs on anyone else.

2. Those latter scriptures are taken out of context.
Everybody picks and chooses what they want to believe out of the bible - and what they want to leave out!

Have you noticed that the best they can muster is out of context and its metaphor? How convenient for them.
We're not under the law. We're under grace. These laws aren't for us to do.
Here we go again!!

Another young "know-it-all" has found a few verses in the Bible, which have been taken completely out of context, and this person is trying to build a belief system on these few verses. And, of course, this person is probably a homosexual attempting to tell us that we are all wrong because we believe the Bible when it says that homosexuality is a sin (in several places.)

Well, youngster, I have NEVER heard of anyone "holding a rally" to demonstrate against homosexuals. Quite, the opposite, I have heard of many homosexual rallys and parades, demonstrating the perversion in front of the whole qwhors, as if it is something to be proud of.

Usually, the only reason anyone speaks out against homosexuality is because you people are always trying to force your beliefs and your perverted actions on the rest of us. We Christians know that homosexuality is NOT the only sin, but we usually don't see a parade of confessed adulterers, or of admitted child molesters, or of admitted rapists, or murderers, confessed abortionists, or admitted liars.. Homosexuals are the only group of sinners who openly flaunt their sin and who openly try to get Christians, and others, to acvcept them and their perversion,. That is why we speak out against you. And, we DO NOT hold rallys protesting your sin. When you stop trying to force us to accept your perversions, we will leave you alone. I promise!!

If you have to sin, at least have the decency to keep it private and don't hold parades announcing your sins.

By the way, since you like to quote Scvripture, not caring if it is context or not5, let me state that I am practicing Lev 19.17 in this response to you.

Go in peace.

And, alway remember: -- Jesus loves you!!

Sincerely,

Uncle Floyd
Everything that you just mentioned minus the homosexuality part was nailed to the cross when Jesus died. (Plus those laws only applied to Israel.)

Colossians 2:14

Having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.

In the new testament it still mentions homosexuality as a sin.

1 Corithians 6:9

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
While Leviticus outlines health and sanitation rules that would make us much healthier if we followed it, eating lobster or wearing polyester blend won't catapult you into hell. We are saved through Jesus Christ. By grace alone and not works. Jesus fulfilled the Bible. That being said, we are supposed to repent from our sins. Whether you want to believe it or not, homosexuality is a sin -- just like lying, stealing, and murder. The Bible doesn't just talk about it in the Old Testament (Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 1 Corinthians 6:9)

You don't give up all sin and then become a Christian. You give yourself up to the Lord and He pulls you away from all sin. Accepting Jesus' grace covers all sin. You need not worry about an eternity in hell, but for every sin a Christian performs he/she will still have to answer to Jesus. So you see, there is no free license to sin for any of us and ALL sinners--saved and unsaved--will answer for their sins.
