Average pay for a waitress/hostess?

I just got a job at joe's crab shack as a waitress/hostess in minnesota and i'm wondering how much i can plan on getting payedAverage pay for a waitress/hostess?
a good waitress will make far above minimum wage.......

in Minnesota a small employer must pay at least $5.25 an hour and a large employer must pay at least $6.15 an hour in actual paid wages.

if the employer is covered by FLSA then the waitress must make at least $7.25 an hour for each hour worked.

Minnesota does NOT allow the federal tip credit to be taken by employers.

$2.13 an hour http://www.dol.gov/elaws/faq/esa/flsa/00鈥?/a>

but tips are great. I've been serving and bartending for 9 years, even with this poor economy I still make like $25,000-$30,000 working 4 nights a week, less than 40 hours. The worst part about waiting tables is that you make cash every night so it so easy to spend and you never know where it goes! Trust me.Average pay for a waitress/hostess?
It all depends on what state you live in. As stated above, some states only pay $2.13. In California you will make at least minimum wage, which is $8.00 an hour
Servers make 2.13 plus tips

and hosts usually make in between 8-9/hour starting
$2 an hour plus tips. I make about $86 a day on a lunch shift. (not at Joe's, sorry)

Hosts make about $8.
$2.13 an hour plus tips.
Around here $2.88 an hour. I think legally bartenders as well can get paid that. So tip your wait/bar staff 20% : )
