On average, like how much do they make if they were a waitress or waiter... just at a typical little sea food place like joes crab shack or red lobster? I live in California by the way... so Like how much would I make when I first start to be a waiter.?.How much MONEY does someone who works for a place like JOES CRAB SHACK or RED LOBSTER make??
I work at a RL in upstate Ny. It depends on the area you live, and what the restaurant is like. I make 4.65 an hour, plus all my tips. On an average week with 25-30 hours I have a 50-60 dollar pay check, and make anywhere from 300-500 in tips. It really depends on the shifts you get, and if you work days that it is busy. One week I had around 600, and the next it was just over 300.
Each states minimum wage for servers is different, you would need to check where you live. Also you will train for at least 2 weeks at RL before having your first table, depending on training, and how much they need servers. Each restaurant is also different. If you live in an area where they are busy often or all the time, you will get more hours on average, and make more, because you have more tables.
You'd MAKE some pretty good MONEY working somewhere that sells FISH.How much MONEY does someone who works for a place like JOES CRAB SHACK or RED LOBSTER make??
As I understand it, different states now have different minimum wage laws and, in California's case, it goes also by counties or municipalities. So, check with your state's labor board to find out what starting wage is in your area. This is going to be a minimum wage job, after all. Just be thankful you don't live in Idaho. In that state, waitresses or anyone who makes tips is paid the federal minimum wage for tipped employees---$2.13 an hour.
as you know the cost of living will be different so i beleive the max hourly is about 3 buck. it is a mid scale restaraunt so the tips would be satisfactory. I say about 22k-28k
8 of 9 dollars an hour
minimum wage plus tips. Places like these with a bar usually have a set-up where all the shifts tips go into one pile, then the bartender and cooks get their shares followed by waitstaff then dishwashers. If you can make friends with the bartenders and cooks there might be food and drinks for you too.
