Does fiddler crab habitat need an air stone?

My son brought home 3 tiny fiddler crabs from school yesterday and I had to rush out to get a "crab shack" for them. It's about 1' x 9" and we have water in the bottom and a big pile of sand and rocks in the center. If we change the water every day (dechlorinated tap water with some salt added) do they need an air stone? Also how do you clean the sand? I'm totally clueless.Does fiddler crab habitat need an air stone?
Air stones aren't necessary, they are definitely beneficial, but by no means required. They just add oxygen to the water.

cleaning wise, get a gravel siphon, to suck up debris on the top of the sand, just be careful not to suck all your sand up.

Fiddlers also require brackish water (basically a mild salt water) they need the trace elements in marine salt to regenerate their shells when they molt.. other wise they'll die.

Getting pets before knowing the proper set up they need is never a good idea. Fiddler crabs should also have 5 gallons each.Does fiddler crab habitat need an air stone?
I am no expert on fiddler crabs, but from the information I could find I don't believe that they would need an air stone. As to cleaning the sand, you could always use a strainer once in a while to filter out any waste and such.
