How come no Christians seem to mind Red Lobster or Joe's Crab Shack?

They're against your holy book!

Lev 11:10-And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you.

That's essentially everything that's not fish...so why not protest the eating of non-fish aquatic animals? How come no Christians seem to mind Red Lobster or Joe's Crab Shack?
OOH!! I was wondering what the hell you were getting at about lobsters...

Yet another example of how Christians ignore the words of the Bible. And yet they preach to us about religion...

"An ounce of practice is worth a ton of preaching"

-Gandi

You know they are going to say "We are no longer under the law of Leviticus, since Jesus nullified it" or some other cop-out.
Joe's stone crab's is pretty good. Red Lobster sucks, over priced, poorly cooked. Christens treat lobster like sex, sin today, repent tomorrow and all is forgiven. The problem I have with stone crabs is not that they don't have scales it is the fact that they ruthlessly rip one or it's little arms off and throw it back in the water to grow a new one. Thar's f-ed up.

Go to the store, buy a lobster put it in about an inch of water with a lid over it so that it steams ( boiling leaches all the flavor out), after it turns bright red it should be about another 7 minutes a pound. The way you test is to give a sharp little yank to one of the small legs, if it is ready it will come right off. Serve with melted butter. Much better and cheaper than Red Lobster will ever give you.How come no Christians seem to mind Red Lobster or Joe's Crab Shack?
unfortunately it is due to misunderstanding of not being accountable to mosaic and ceremonial law and practices after the crucifixion. the use of Peters vision on the rooftop is often cited as proof to all animals being clean to eat. But the truth was not animals but it was God telling Peter to go with Cornelius the Roman Centurion in which he did and converted his whole family. That it was time to bring the good news to the gentiles. Many forget that Jesus stated not one letter or tittle (dot) would disappear. We are still just as responsible for obedience to the law as before. Pig is mentioned as an abomination (check last 2 chapters of Isaiah) no where does it say God changed his mind. If the above argument is credible than it must be ok for same sex relationships, since they love each other it must be ok. God said it was an abomination, but since Christs sacrifice it must be ok. No it is still as much an abomination as eating pork. I recently gave up pork and the unclean animals listed. (a little over a year) and I feel cleaner and better. For a good study go to Amazing Facts website and under bible study check out Gods Health Plan.
No doubt they are used to Atheists imagining that they are experts on God and His word.

Not occurred to you that they have actually read and understood His word?

The reason and logic that you use to deny God is at a pretty low level if it is not up to reading and understanding such that even a child can know.

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
It's probably because most people who claim to be Christians have not read their Bible, if they own one, and are not aware that God warned us not to eat bottom-feeding plants and animals.

If they knew about all the poisons these creatures eat, they probably would stop eating them.
Jesus made all foods clean.

Mark 7:14-19 (New International Version)

Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' " If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. "Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'? For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")

I hope this helps.

God bless.
There's a difference between the old dietary laws given to the Israelites, and the moral commandments given to Gentiles. Jews are still under the dietary laws, but Gentiles are not and never have been. We're only under the moral commandments, which is all that Jesus expected of Gentiles. He never said that one had to become Jewish to follow Him.

Peace!
one time I had japanese food and so I asked the sushi guy what am I eating? He says yellow fish? I ask, yellow fish and he says no jellow fish? I say, jellow fish? and he says no, jello fish? And I say jelly fish? And he says yes jelly fish. I get sick and that ain't a fish brother?
Believe it or not, I keep the food health laws.

EDIT:

For those who think Jesus did away with them because of Peter's vision, that vision was about God now working with the gentiles (the rest of Mankind). Read Acts 3 and 4 again in it's context. It is plain as day.
Because Peter had a vision, documented in Acts 10, in which he learned that Christians do not need to follow the ancient dietary laws.

Jesus also told us that it is not what goes into a man that makes him unclean, overturning the dietary laws.
First of all, you have just proven your ignorant. When Jesus died on the cross, he wiped out all the rules of the old testament. So we don't have to follow them anymore. What is it with you and your anti-Christian questions? What do you have against us? You should learn more about us and are faith; we prove to be very good people. G-d bless. %26lt;%26gt;%26lt;
I am a Christian and hate fish.

Peter had a vision and in the vision, God made it OK to eat most anything.

God said paraphrasing, That which I called clean (speaking about food) do not call unclean.

Jesus ate fish. With your logic, Jesus is a sinner.
Well, some parts of the old testament are considered relevant and some parts aren't. There really isn't any logic or consistency to it. It's pretty much pick whichever verses you want to consider relevant and ignore the rest.
Christians know that covenant was given to the Jews. Jews know that covenant was given to the Jews. People who read the Bible in context know that covenant was given to the Jews.
How can one be convinced that it wasn't from the paw of lobsters and crustaceans that penned those verses? I think their ancestors were just trying to help them out, but apparently it didn't work. It's all rather blasphemous.
Leviticus is the Old Testament, which belongs to the Hebrews/Jews. Christians are supposed to be guided by the New Testament, meaning seafood is yummy good.
Because they taste good, so we can just ignore that part.

Hey Proverbs 31, if jesus wiped out everything from the old testament, why do you still supposedly obey the ten commandments?
It also says not to eat pigs. In Acts 10, God told Peter that it was okay, because he provided it, and to no longer call it "unclean". Research a little more next time :)
Eating crustaceans and mollusks is an abomination unto the Lord. Tasty, tasty abominations...
I like Red Lobster. But I've never been to Joe's Crab Shack. I'll have to try it some day.
Your ignorance of the Bible is appalling. I mean that in all honesty.
I love lobster and dont care what the Bible says--or you either, for that matter. Signed..........A Christian
I LOVE Joe's and Red Lobster.

I'm atheist but... just thought you'd like to know anyway...
Now I'm hungary, but not thirsty.

Err...you're supposed to cherry pick the bible verses you want to follow.
Leviticus chapter 11 lists the dietary restrictions God gave to the nation of Israel. The dietary laws included prohibitions against eating pork, shrimp, shellfish and many types of seafood, most insects, scavenger birds, and various other animals. The dietary rules were never intended to apply to anyone other than the Israelites. The purpose of the food laws was to make the Israelites distinct from all other nations. After this purpose had ended, Jesus declared all foods clean (Mark 7:19). God gave the apostle Peter a vision in which He declared that formerly unclean animals could be eaten: “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean” (Acts 10:15). When Jesus died on the cross, He fulfilled the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:24-26; Ephesians 2:15). This includes the laws regarding clean and unclean foods.

Romans 14:1-23 teaches us that not everyone is mature enough in the faith to accept the fact that all foods are clean. As a result, if we are with someone who would be offended by our eating “unclean” food, we should give up our right to do so as to not offend the other person. We have the right to eat whatever we want, but we do not have the right to offend other people, even if they are wrong. For the Christian in this age, though, we have freedom to eat whatever we wish as long as it does not cause someone else to stumble in his/her faith.

In the New Covenant of grace, the Bible is far more concerned with how much we eat than what we eat. Physical appetites are an analogy of our ability to control ourselves. If we are unable to control our eating habits, we are probably also unable to control other habits such as those of the mind (lust, covetousness, unrighteous hatred/anger) and unable to keep our mouths from gossip or strife. We are not to let our appetites control us; rather, we are to control them (Deuteronomy 21:20; Proverbs 23:2; 2 Peter 1:5-7; 2 Timothy 3:1-9; 2 Corinthians 10:5).
