A good crab shack in San Diego?

Does anybody know of a good authentic crab shack in San Diego?A good crab shack in San Diego?
There is nothing that fits that bill in Seaport Village and Joes Crab Shack is a chain restaurant that I would never consider authentic. Take a couple hours and drive down to Puerto Nuevo, Mexico. It is only about 45 minutes south of the border and the whole town is nothing but lobster and seafood restaurants. Stay on the main highway in Mexico and it is a nice road and you will not have any problems. To be safe, stop just before crossing the border and pay 12 bucks for some Mexican auto insurance. We do it all the time and it is a piece of cake.
Joe's Crab Shack is OK, I think they are pricey %26amp; the meals are not consistent. The same dish at the same restaurant is really good 1 day %26amp; marginal the next. Mexico can be really good or really bad. And Mexican seafood is not quite crab shack fare. Try the Sand Crab Cafe. It's in Escondido, not exactly San Diego. But it is good. I think it may have more the "feel" you are looking for. They have steamed crabs, shrimp, lobster, and fish. It is served in a mound, on butcher paper, in front of you. The prices are decent, the food is good, and the beer is cold. Dinner for 2 about $40. The place can be a lot of fun with a group of friends. It is a little hard to find.A good crab shack in San Diego?
