i bought a hermit crab about 4 days ago. he isn't eating or drinking. i count his food pellets and fresh fruits and other little treats, and it's the same amount every time i check the tank. (i replace it daily). he has also took to hiding in his crab shack and will not come out of his shell for anything except a bath. even then though, he won't come completely out. i'm positive he does not move around at night either. i tried smoothing out the sand before i go to bed and in the mornin, nothing has been moved. what's wrong with him? is he sick?Desperately need help with hermit crab!?
He's probably scared. Hermies need time to adjust. Especially if you buy them from a pet store, where they were probably abused or neglected.
he is probably just getting used to his tank, hermit crabs dont move much for the first little while, so if in another couple weeks he still isnt moving or eating, then he might be sick.Desperately need help with hermit crab!?
he is getting used.and they eat very little at at night!!!he may eat when you can't see!!!
