When going out to eat on a diet....?

What should I do.. I'm going to eat at Joe's Crab Shack and I don't know what the healthiest item I could order is... any suggestions? Lowest calorie food? When going out to eat on a diet....?
Do what I do -- order from the childs menu, or salad menu.

I hate going out...honestly.

WHY the hell do resturants think that it's some kind of a bargain to serve FOUR TIMES a portion size?? And charge for it too? WHy not "A" portion, and pay 1/4 the price???

I think a resturant that priced based on serving size would be a big hit. "i want one serving of meat, but 3 servings of veggies". I dont want 3servings of meat and 1 serving of veggies!
What you should be doing is focusing on the nutritional content, not the number of calories. Many people count calories and basically just don't get enough nutrition, because they eat a small amount of really bad foods.

Not sure about Joe's, but most decent restaurants serve salads as meals. I would go with something like that. Seafood (not fish, but crab, shrimp, lobster) is actually high in saturated fat, so the main menu items at Joe's are going to be exactly what you want to stay away from. When going out to eat on a diet....?
